Sesame Broccoli (Serves 4)

I’ve always liked this sesame seed mixture that is drizzled over cooked broccoli. It’s a delightful flavor combination and uses ingredients that most cooks have on hand.

1 pound fresh broccoli or 1 (10-ounce) package frozen broccoli
1 tablespoon sesame seed
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
4 teaspoons sugar

1. Cook fresh broccoli in small amount of boiling water or frozen broccoli, according to package directions. Drain.

2. Toast sesame seeds in preheated 350 degree oven in 9-inch pie pan for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned.

3. In small saucepan, combine toasted sesame seeds, oil, vinegar, soy sauce and sugar. Heat gently until sugar dissolves and mixture is hot.

4. Pour sesame mixture over hot broccoli and toss to coat evenly.
