Home-Style Yellow Beans (Serves 4)

When home-grown yellow beans are in abundant supply, I often prepare them using this time-treasured plan. My mother, Lois Howell, always created this recipe for us from memory back home on the farm in Wisconsin. How fortunate we are that she left this idea for all of us to enjoy.

1 pound yellow snap beans
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 cup milk
Salt and pepper

1. Wash beans and snap or cut into bite-size pieces.

2. In medium saucepan, cook beans until crisp-tender in boiling salted water.

3. Drain beans. Return the beans to saucepan.

4. Add butter and milk. Heat just until piping hot. Serve in small sauce dishes.
