Asparagus with Toasted Pecans (Serves 3-4)

“On a busy day when you’re in need of a quick asparagus garnish, try this pleasing pecan idea.  As with most toppings, the recipe doubles or triples easily.

1 pound fresh asparagus, spears or cut into short lengths
3/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons chopped pecans

1. Cook asparagus in boiling salted water until crisp tender.  Drain well.

2. Melt butter in small skillet;  add pecans

3. Cook and stir pecans until they are toasted.

4. Garnish cooked asparagus with toasted pecans.
