Ham and Black Bean Soup (Serves 3 or 4)

This heart healthy soup is the perfect recipe suggestion when you have leftover ham on hand. The short list of ingredients will please many cooks and the tasty results will be smiles to family and friends.

2 cups chicken broth
1 cup salsa, mild, medium or hot
1 cup cubed turkey ham
1 (15-ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 green onion, sliced for garnish if you wish

1. In saucepan, combine chicken broth, salsa, ham and black beans.

2. Bring to a boil over medium heat; reduce to low and cover. Simmer 10 minutes.

3. Garnish with green onion, if you wish.
