Rhubarb Strawberry Sauce (Makes 6 half cup servings)

Rhubarb and strawberries have been flavor pals for years.  All the microwave cook needs is a plan like this recipe to create a delicious combination sauce.

2 cups sliced fresh or frozen rhubarb
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar or Splenda
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

1. Place rhubarb, sugar and water in 2-quart microwave-safe casserole.

2 Microwave on Full Power 5 to 7 minutes or until rhubarb begins to soften and break apart, stirring once or twice.

3 Add strawberries; stir gently.

4 Microwave on Full Power 1-2 minutes or until strawberries are warm and start to soften.

5 Serve warm or cold as a sauce or over angel food cake or ice cream.
