Pizza-Style Pasta Salad (Serves 15)

If you’re looking for a great crowd pleasing pasta salad recipe, look no further. This colorful combination has a robust flavor that almost encourages licking the bowl clean. It’s the perfect suggestion for family reunion picnics.

1 pound interesting shaped pasta like bowties, wagon wheels, rotelle etc
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar
1 and 1/2 teaspoons basil leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves, crushed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1 (14.5-ounce) can stewed tomatoes, undrained
1 and 1/2 cups chopped red, green or yellow bell peppers
1 cup sliced green onions
1/2 cup sliced black olives
3 ounces sliced pepperoni, cut into halves

1. In large saucepan, cook pasta, according to package directions. Drain.

2. In jar with tight-fitting lid, combine salad oil, lemon juice, sugar, basil, oregano, salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Cover tightly and shake well.

3. In very large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, tomatoes, bell pepper, green onion, olives, and pepperoni.

4. Drizzle the dressing over salad mixture. Cover.

5. Chill 4 to 24 hours to develop flavors.
