Lovely Creamed Ham (Serves 6)

Quite often someone mentions to me that they have recently prepared this beautifully flavored entrée and received rave reviews. It’s such a good feeling to know that recipes, like this one, are used time and again with excellent results.

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
1 and 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon chicken base or bouillon
1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1/3 cup sliced pitted ripe olives
2 tablespoons chopped canned pimento
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley

1. In medium saucepan, melt butter. Blend in flour. Add milk, water and bouillon. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.

2. Add cheese, mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Heat and stir until cheese melts.

3. Stir in ham, olives pimento and parsley. Heat until piping hot.

4. Serve over patty shells, biscuits or toast points.
