Apple Crisp for Two (Serves 2)

Efficient cooks will pop this favorite dessert in the microwave oven as the main course is being prepared or even as the first course is eaten.  Change the fruit to pears or peaches and you’'ve created a brand new finale.

2 tablespoons quick-cooking or regular rolled oats
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash of ground nutmeg
Dash of salt
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 cups peeled and sliced apples

1. In small mixing bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour,     cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

2. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until     crumbly;  set aside.

3. Place apple slices in small microwave-safe casserole.

4. Top with rolled oat mixture.

5. Microwave on Full power 3-5 minutes or until apples     are tender, rotating casserole once.

6. Serve warm with frozen yogurt or ice cream, if desired.
